This beautifully illustrated story about Moses from the Old Testament is based upon Exodus chapters 1-3, and 3:14. The story gives children the understanding about how the Israelites were enslaved and oppressed by the Egyptians, and how the baby Moses was found by Pharaoh's daughter to grow into a strong man. God instructs Moses to return to Egypt after abruptly leaving it to lead the Israelites out of slavery. Through a series of signs and wonders, including plagues on Egypt, Moses eventually convinces Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. This sets the stage for the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land. Key themes in these chapters include oppression, liberation, faith, and God's power and faithfulness. Key characters include Moses, Pharaoh, and God.
